United Methodist Women
A community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission thru participation in the global ministries of the church. Emphasis for UMW missions worldwide is on women, youth and children.
Membership in Cokesbury's unit of UMW is open to all women. The unit consists of three circles that meet monthly (September to May). Circle meetings include a program, circle business, mission discussions, refreshments, and fellowship. The Craft Ladies meet weekly from 9 AM - 1 PM in Asbury Place on Wednesdays.

Anna Circle meets monthly thru out the year at 5:45 p.m., on the third Wednesday of the month. Crafts are a big part of this circle's meetings. Anna Circle meets in members homes. Contact co-leaders Jen Worth, 375-5454, or Joyce Blackwelder, 476-6762, for meeting locations.
Abigail Circle meets at 9:30 a.m., on the third Tuesday of the month at Asbury Place on the 9th Avenue campus. For more information, contact circle chair, Beverley Crawford at 438-6330.
Ruth Circle meets for a lunchy gathering at 11:30 a.m. on the third Thursday of the month in the 9th Avenue library. For more information, contact circle chair, Sarah Smith-Scales at 476-8625.
Craft Ladies meet weekly on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Asbury Place on the 9th Avenue campus. This group supports our missions by crocheting, making bib aprons for local nursing home clients, making handmade greeting cards to send to our troops for them to send home, crafting yarn cats, and more. Co-Leaders are Shirley Hoffman, 433-1439; Terry Tillett, 476-6607; and Sue White, 476-1634.
All the circles welcome visitors, with the hope that you will decide their circle is the right one for you. You will be warmly welcomed. Take time away from your busy life to enjoy the fellowship of a Christian sisterhood.

Gracious Ladies
A group of women 55+ who meet on the second Sunday of the month immediately following the 10:45 worship service.They eat their noon meal and fellowship together at a nearby restaurant.
They also do various activities such as attend plays and go on local tours.

"Harvest of Bargains" Sale
The women's one fundraiser of the year is on Saturday, October 1, 8 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. in Bullington Hall. Church members generously share their household overages with us and we have a great indoor garage sale. The bake sale is hugely popular. Last year we sold out. Those Craft Ladies will also have their work on sale. Set-up for the sale on Friday, Sept. 30, 2-5 p.m. Please bring any contributions (baked goods or household items) during that time period.
