“Mercy Triumphs” by Beth Moore
James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. In this 8-week class for women, you will see how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer.
Cokesbury offers two classes:
- Wednesdays at 6:15 PM in Asbury Place at the 9th Avenue campus.
- Sundays at 5:30 PM in McClain Hall room 205 at the Summit campus. Starts Sunday, February 12.
“Staying in Love”-for couples
Falling in love is easy, but staying there, that's something else entirely. With more than a thousand matchmaking services available today, finding a romantic match can be easier than ever. But staying together with the one you've found seems to be the real challenge.
So, is it possible for two people to fall in love and actually stay there? Absolutely! Learn how in this four-session group study using video teaching by pastor and author Andy Stanley.

Faith Lessons-"Life & Ministry of the Messiah."
Journey back to the time of Jesus. Marvel at the magnificence of Herod's palace. Scramble among the ruins of Qumran. And wonder at the simplicity and wisdom of Jesus' parables. In this video based set of Faith Lessons, discover how the events of Jesus' day impacted his life, ministry, and communication, then let them impact yours.

“Exploring God’s Word”
Designed for previous graduates of the Disciple 1 class, this 32 week course uses the Disciple 1 reading schedule and manual and digs deeper into the meaning and message of the Scriptures. In Disciple 1, you learned the who, what, when, and where of the Bible. In Exploring God’s Word, you will explore the why.
Two-hour class meets weekly during the daytime on Wednesdays. Facilitated by Claire Lyford and Karen Brand.
Disciple 1-“Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study”
Disciple 1 aims to aid us in becoming disciples of Jesus Christ through an in-depth study of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, all of which testifies about Jesus (John 5:39). Through Disciple, we are strengthened in our faith and guided into service and ministry.
Two-hour class meets weekly at 6 PM on Wednesdays. Facilitated by Owen Sharp.
Disciple 3-“Remember Who You Are”
Disciple 3 takes a deep look at the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and the thirteen letters traditionally attributed to Paul. It focuses on who we are as God’s people, and the importance of remembering what God has done for us.
This 32-week class meets weekly for two hours at 6 PM on Wednesdays. Facilitated by Gene Turnipseed.
Disciple 4-“Remember Who You Are”
Disciple 4 looks at how God invites, welcomes, shelters, & gives security and rest to His people. It focuses on the history and wisdom literature of the Old Testament, and the New Testament books of John (gospel); 1, 2, and 3 John; James; Jude; and Revelation.
This 32-week class meets weekly for two hours at 6 PM on Wednesdays. Facilitated by John Veasley.
Life Groups at Cokesbury
Life Groups are small group worship experiences that include worship, study of scripture, and the opportunity to serve in ministry. Our current Life Groups include:

Witty Wise
A group for those age 55 and older. They will next gather for a luncheon and meeting/program in McClain Hall at the Summit campus at noon on the June 9th. Bring a dish to share. Johnny Shaffer will present a program on Florida history.
Trips and other activities are scheduled periodically as well as the luncheon programs.
Witty Wise is a very active, fun-loving group, and they invite you to join them any time.
